What is the Auction?
The Auction is an annual fundraiser and community-building event that is organized and carried out by parent volunteers. It is open to parents, faculty, and the broader Grant community. The evening includes drinks and silent auction, dinner and live auction and dancing. All proceeds from the evening benefit Grant HS students in extracurricular groups and various projects.

How much is it?
Tickets are $75 each.
How do I purchase Tickets?
Tickets will go on sale online in October.
Is seating reserved?
No reserved seating. We want everyone to mix and mingle—this is a community building event and time to meet new faces!
Does the Auction sell out?
There is a capacity limit at the venue and rest assured we will keep you aware of any sell out possibilities. Just to be safe, it’s always advisable to purchase tickets early to ensure your spot.
Where can I park?
There is a parking lot with 125 spots available after 5:30pm on weekdays and all hours on the weekends. Street parking varies from 1-2 hour parking.
How much does the Auction raise?
Last year alone, your contributions provided over $60,000 in additional funds to apply towards extracurricular groups and various projects for Grant HS students.
What is the Silent Auction?
A silent auction is a fundraising technique frequently used at charity events.
Our silent auction is conducted by setting up tables with displays of items or services upon which you can bid. The bid sheet at each item will show all previous bids so that people participating in the silent auction know that they need to bid higher in order to get the item. They also have the opportunity to revisit bidding sheets before the auction is closed if they really want something being offered at the silent auction. Examples of silent auction offerings include wine, furniture, gift certificates for services, and themed baskets full of goodies—mostly from local merchants.
What is the Live Auction?
After the silent auction closes, the presentation and live auction commences. The live auction items are typically bigger items. This is a traditional auction, with a professional auctioneer taking bids. If you want to bid on an item in the live auction, hold up your bidder paddle so your bidder number is visible and the auctioneer sees you.
What is the Paddle Raise?
The Paddle Raise occurs during the live Auction. The auctioneer asks for guests to raise their paddles to make a monetary donation towards a special project, a scholarship fund, a large piece of equipment or a special item that is needed by GHS.
What are Sign-up Parties?
During the silent auction, we offer several parties or events available for a flat sign-up fee. Examples include themed parties, Poker nights, etc.
How do I know what items are going to be auctioned?
Prior to Auction night, we’ll publish the Auction catalog. You can access the Auction catalog from pretty much any Grant communication including the Did you Know and Weekly Bulletin, GHS website and of course grantboosters.com.
Is there an obligation to buy things?
There will be items, packages, and sign-up parties to fit every budget, but this is also a community-building event and there is no obligation to make purchases.
What should I wear?
Your attendance is most important to us, not how you dress! That said, people typically were anything from dressy to semi-formal attire.
Is this a family event?
No. The Auction is a grown-up party.
If I Volunteer on Auction night, can I bid on items?
Yes, we hope you do! When you check in, you will receive a Bidder Number.

I’m new to the school and I’m not sure what to expect.
The Auction is a fun way to meet new people and get to know the Grant community. If this is your first GHS Auction, let us know when you purchase your tickets!
What is the Wall of Wine?
GHS families, local wine shops and Oregon wineries generously donate fabulous wine valued from $15-50. Donated wine is individually wrapped in a wine bag and labeled with a different number. Once you arrive at the auction, visit The Wall of Wine table, check out the display, provide the host with your bidder number and select a wrapped bottle.
Purchase one for $20 or three for $50! It’s a fun surprise to discover the mystery wine you’ve selected and a great take-away auction item to enjoy!
